Statement

Consider a power series:

∑k=0∞ak(x−μ)k

Suppose that the power series converges to a function f(x) on the interval (μ−c,μ+c),i.e.,:<math>f(x)=∑k=0∞ak(x−μ)k∀x∈(μ−c,μ+c)

Then, we have the following:

  1. If f is defined and left continuous at μ+c and the power series converges for x=μ+c, then the value to which the power series converges equals f(μ+c).
  2. If f is defined and right continuous at μ−c and the power series converges for x=μ−c, then the value to which the power series converges equals f(μ−c).
